Curzon slip to second defeat in three days

Curzon Ashton slipped to their second defeat in the space of three days, losing out 2-0 to Darlington at the tameside Stadium on Tuesday night.

Adam Lakeland's side were looking to bounce back from the 3-0 defeat at Chorley on Saturday, however the high-flying Quakers were too much to handle and showed their class in the second half. Hazel put the visitors ahead in the 61st minute before Lambert wrapped things up with nine minutes to go. To make matters worse, Connor Diamaio received a second yellow card just four minutes later and was dismissed by the referee. He will now face a one match ban.

The result leaves Darlington in second spot - just one point below leaders Brackley Town -whilst the Nash are in 19th position and just four points below the relegation zone. Curzon return to action on Saturday with a trip to Banbury United, who are eighth in the table and one point outside the playoffs.
