The home side won the toss and elected to field first, putting Old Glossop in to bat. Old Glossop struggled to just 49 all out (23.2) at the hands of some devastating bowling by Dinting’s N.Singh who took a blazing 7-10 (11.2) which included 6 maiden overs. Dove Holes CC vs Hayfield CC
Hayfield won the toss and elected to field first. Dove Holes made 128 all out (37.5) the runs made in the lower order, with D.Gilbride top scoring on 52 runs. Hayfield bowler D.Evans took 5-32 (9.5) and A.Ostilly took 4-20 (12) with 4 maiden overs. In response, Hayfield made 69-4 (22). Dove’s D.Waterhouse took 3-22 (6) with 1 maiden. Newton CC vs Whaley Bridge CC
The visitors won the toss and elected to field first. Newton made 199 all out (44.4) with J.Cragg top scoring on 64 runs (which included 5 fours and 5 sixes). There were 3 wickets each for Whaley bowlers J.Higginbotham (3-42) and H.Holden (3-43). In response, Whaley Bridge could only reach 105 all out (33.4) with J.Higginbotham top scoring on 42 runs. Pott Shrigley CC vs New Mills CC
Pott Shrigley won the toss and elected to field first, putting New Mills in to bat. New Mills made 91 all out (34) with J.Toft top scoring on 26 runs. Pott Shrigley bowler J.Bridgeford took 3-24 (12) including 3 maidens, and A.Matheson took 3-15 (5). In response, Pott Shrigley made 41-7 (21). Stalybridge CC vs Broadbottom CC
The visitors won the toss and elected to field first. Stalybridge made 124-9 (28) with D.Humphreys top scoring on 40 runs. Broady’s T.Gull took 5-29 (8) including 3 maidens and J.Booth took 3-47 (8) with 1 maiden. In response, Broadbottom made 129-2 (19.3) with opener A.Walsh seeing the innings out on 67 not out, supported by D.Perrin on 39 not out, giving Broadbottom the win by 8 wickets. Tintwistle CC vs Hazel Grove CC
Tintwistle won the toss and elected to field first, putting Hazel Grove in to bat. Hazel Grove made 75 all out (33.2) with C.Higson top scoring on 39 runs. Tintwistle’s T.Scott took 4-34 (12) including 1 maiden, and S.Rose took 3-15 (9). In response, Tintwistle made 76-2 (29) to take the win by 8 wickets. [Tintwistle 19 points, Hazel Grove 1 point]

Bissenden Cup
In the Kudos Drinks Bissenden Cup, Old Glossop CC hosted Hayfield CC to determine the team who would make the final.
Old Glossop CC vs Hayfield CC
A tight, nail-biter of a match that went down to the very last ball. Hayfield won the toss and elected to field first, putting the home side in to bat. Old Glossop made 177-9 (40) boosted by C.Kean who scored 81 runs (including 8 fours and 3 sixes). Hayfield bowler M.Richardson took 3-34 (8) including 2 maidens. In response, Hayfield made 173-9 (40) with G.Davies top scoring on 41 runs. There were 3 wickets each for Old Glossop’s J.Kay (3-20 from 8 overs, including 2 maidens) and R.Adderley (3-36 from 5 overs). Old Glossop won by 4 runs.
Old Glossop will face Dove Holes in the Bissenden Cup Final, to be held at Hayfield CC on Sunday 11th August.
Hawke Trophy
In the Kudos Drinks Hawke Trophy Semi Final, two matches took place, with all teams looking for a place in the final.
Dinting CC vs Old Glossop CC
The home side won the toss and elected to field first. Old Glossop made 148 all out (40) with J.Wild scoring 37 runs and S.Hall scoring 38 runs. Dinting bowler Z.Winterbottom took 3-9 (8) with 5 maidens. In response, Dinting made 146-5 (29) with G.Draper on 43 runs, and M.Coleman on 43 not out, giving Dinting the win by 5 wickets.
Newton CC vs Dove Holes CC
Newton won the toss and elected to field first. Dove Holes made 153 all out (40) with openers K.Jones (42 runs) and K.Collins (41 runs) making a solid start to the innings. Newton bowler J.Hoctor was on fire, taking an incredible 7-11 (8) including 4 maidens. In response, Newton made it to 131 all out (37.1) with great knocks from M.Williams (51 runs) and T.Mahmood (45 runs). Dove bowlers K.Vernon took 4-29 (8) and J.Gregory took 3-26 (7.1). Dove Holes won by 22 runs.
Dinting will face Dove Holes in the Hawke Trophy Final, to be held at High Lane CC on Sunday 28th July.
