The home team won the toss and elected to bat first. Broadbottom made 262-8 (45) with C. Pratt top scoring on 69 runs, and A. Walsh making 53 runs. Pott Shrigley’s T. James took 5-68 (11). In response, Pott Shrigley could only reach 108 all out (28.5) with A. Jackson top scoring on 51 runs. Broadbottom’s C. Petersen took 4-47 (12). Broadbottom won by 154 runs. Dinting CC vs New Mills CC
New Mills won the toss and elected to bat first. New Mills made 157 all out (36.4) with C. Firth hitting 47 runs. There were 4 wickets for Dinting’s N. Singh (4-33 from 8 overs). In response, Dinting reached 158-3 in 26 overs. The top score went to R. Nixon on 93 not out, aided to victory by J. Lythgoe on 32 not out, giving Dinting the win by 7 wickets. Dove Holes CC vs Stalybridge CC

Hazel Grove CC vs Whaley Bridge CC
The visitors won the toss and elected to field first, putting Hazel Grove in to bat. Hazel Grove made 105 all out (31.3), their opener K. Arora top scoring with 24 runs. There was an excellent bowling performance from Whaley’s J. Higginbotham (5-38 from 12 overs, 3 maidens). In response, Whaley Bridge struggled to 73 all out (27.2) the highest score going to the extras (15). Hazel Grove’s bowling attack was fierce, D. Nunn took an impressive 5-31 from 11.2 overs (3 maidens) and T. Hodkinson took an equally impressive 4-13 from 9 overs (6 maidens). Hazel Grove won by 32 runs. Newton CC vs Hayfield CC
Hayfield won the toss and elected to field first, putting the home side in to bat. Newton made 165-7 (42) with M. Edwards top scoring on 72 runs. Hayfield’s H. Wyatt took 3-63 (12) including 2 maidens. The inclement weather affected play, giving Hayfield a reduced target of 166 from 42 overs. Hayfield made 168-4 (27.3) with G. Wood scoring 67 not out. T20 Finals Day
A double weekend for four teams in the DCCL chasing the T20 trophy. This year’s finals day was held at Chapel en le Frith CC on Sunday 24th August. The day started with the first semi-final at 10am, followed by the second semi-final at 1pm. The winners of each of these matches would go head-to-head in a final at 5pm. As the day progressed the weather gradually deteriorated, and by the end of the final match, the light levels were poor.
Semi-Final : 10am - Hayfield CC vs Old Glossop CC
Hayfield won the toss and elected to field first, putting Old Glossop in to bat. Old Glossop made 136-5 (20) with M. McGrail top scoring on 32 not out. There were 2 wickets for Hayfield’s A.Ostilly (2-31 from 4 overs) and J. Adamson (2-16 from 4 overs). In response, Hayfield made 126-9 (20) with G. Wood top scoring on 32 runs and J. Wyatt not far behind on 31 not out. Old Glossop’s R.Adderley took 3-17 (4) and T. Lane took 3-25 (4). Old Glossop won by 10 runs.
Semi-Final : 1pm - Whaley Bridge CC vs Dove Holes CC
Whaley Bridge won the toss and elected to field first. Dove Holes made 97 all out (18.1) with D. Gilbride top scoring on 41 runs. There were 4 wickets for Whaley’s E. Ford (4-22 from 4 overs). In response, Whaley took it to the wire making 94-3 (20) with J. Higginbotham top scoring on 49. Dove Holes won by 3 runs.
Final 5pm - Dove Holes vs Old Glossop
Dove Holes won the toss and elected to bat first. Dove Holes made 99-6 (20) with J. Hall top scoring on 26 runs. Old Glossop’s E. Walsh took 2-12 (4). In response, a nail-biting innings saw Old Glossop made 95-8 (20) with J. Thorley top scoring on 35 runs. Dove’s D. Gilbride took 3-10 (4). Dove Holes won by 3 runs, taking the 2024 T20 Trophy.
