Dylan Boyle impresses on Curzon Ashton debut

Tameside Stadium, Curzon Ashton

New Curzon Ashton signing Dylan Boyle was thrown straight into action last night, starting the game against Peterborough Sports just hours after his signing was confirmed.

Curzon announced Boyle had joined the club on loan from League One side Fleetwood Town at around 6pm on Tuesday. Manager Adam Lakeland wasted no time, naming him in the starting 11 for the game that took place just hours later, at 7:45.

The agile midfielder had a fine first match in front of his home supporters, and was one of the players who impressed the most in a comfortable 3-0 win. Boyle will remain at Curzon until the end of the season, having spent the first half of the season on loan at Spennymoor Town, where he put in a number of excellent appearances.

Despite the Northern Irishman’s relatively young age, 21, he brings a wealth of experience to Adam Lakeland’s side, having made ten appearances in League One for Fleetwood, as well as making three appearances for his national team’s U21 side.

He will add some much needed depth to the Nash’s squad in midfield areas, and his versatility could be very useful, with the man from Belfast able to play as both a central and defensive midfielder.

Curzon are back in action on Saturday (25 February), when they welcome Alfreton Town to the Tameside Stadium, where Boyle will be hoping to make his second start for the club.
