Sports lovers across the borough will be offered the opportunity to come together and celebrate as the Tameside Sport and Physical Activity Awards return for 2022.
Shining a light on some of the best sporting talent in Tameside, the awards recognise those who go above and beyond to make a real difference in their sport.
There are hundreds of sportspeople who devote their time and commitment to their favourite pastime, and events like this help to give those superstars the praise they deserve.
The pandemic has halted the ceremonies of the last few events, making this year’s even more special.
In the past, categories have included ‘Club of the Year’, ‘Unsung Hero’ and ‘Alex Williams Volunteer of the Year’ among many others.
Every year the awards receive a variety of nominations, ranging from fencing to triathlon. The winners from each category will also have the opportunity to represent Tameside at the Greater Manchester Awards.
Previous events have featured guest speakers and a classy setting, creating the perfect atmosphere to celebrate all thing sport.
Nominations open for the awards on April 4 with the ceremony set to take place at the Dukinfield Town Hall on Friday September 30.
With so many incredible sportsmen and women in the wonderful borough of Tameside, now is the time to think about who deserves a nomination!
