The date has been confirmed for Hyde United’s trip to Chester for the semi-final of the Cheshire Senior Cup.
The tie will take place on Tuesday 31st March with it being a 7:45 pm kick-off at the 1885 Arena.
Hyde have had a great run in the cup so far and overcame Vauxhall Motors FC in the previous round to secure their place in the semi-final. They were involved in a thrilling 2-2 draw away from home and went on to win the tie on penalties.
Chester caused an upset when they defeated League One side Tranmere Rovers to book their place in the semi-final. They won the game 1-0 on the night.
It will represent a tough game for Hyde as Chester haven’t hidden their intentions of wanting to win the cup and have had a strong season thus far. The club sits fifth in the National League North and have a key target of hitting promotion come the end of the season.
Should Hyde manage to come through the semi-final they will set up a final with either defending champions Nantwich Town or Warrington Town with the date still to be confirmed.
