Jack is back to defend his boxing title

Champion Jack Massey.

Chapel champion Jack Massey will be looking to defend his world title as he steps back into the ring in April.

Last November, Jack impressed boxing fans across the nation as he dropped his Belgian opponent and was crowned the IBO World Champion.

Facing various obstacles over the course of 2021, the team worked incredibly hard to ensure that Jack was in the best possible condition. The intense training camps and endless dedication then paid off, earning an incredibly esteemed title.

Now, the Phoenix Camp team are back and ready to defend the title they have rightfully earned.

“We’ve known about this fight for a while now, so as soon as New Year came around, we were back in the gym training hard.

“Now that we have a target on our back, there will be no easy fights and training has been going really well,” Jack said.

Already reaching an incredible level in the sport, the only direction is up for the team, meaning they are set to face some gruelling opponents if they are to retain the title.

The 28-year-old says in boxing you must keep your mindset focused on the fight. He also says that winning the last fight gave him a ‘big confidence boost’.

Speaking after the fight in November, Jack commented that it was ‘amazing’.

“It was nice to get an early stoppage because we thought it was going to go onto the later rounds.”

The team will now be working even harder to ensure that they can recreate that feeling, and will be committing all their time before the fight on April 30 to do this.

The champion says he is excited to get back into the ring and promises that ‘you will see a different fighter this time’.

Time will quickly be running out before Jack is set to step back into the ring. With a hardworking team, a talented fighter and an entertaining night, this will not be one to miss.
