Local clubs learn cup fate

Hyde United will travel to Marine and Ashton United will host South Shields in the first round proper of the FA Trophy.

Our two local football clubs discovered their opponents after the draw was made on Monday afternoon (2 November).

The winners of the ties will claim £3,000 in prize money, with the losers picking up £775.

The Football Association say they will release the date for the round in due course.

The Tigers will head to Merseyside to face the Pitching In Northern Premier League North/West Division outfit.

The Robins will take on fellow Premier Division side South Shields, who have already played at Hurst Cross twice this season - winning 4-0 in the FA Cup and drawing 3-3 in the league.

Meanwhile, New Mills will welcome Congleton Town to Church Lane in the second round of the FA Vase.
