Mossley legend Ben Richardson presented the Willow Wood Hospice Trophy to his former club after they beat Glossop North End 2-0 at Surrey Street.
Lilywhites captain Mark Lees lifted the trophy after goals in each half from Obua Mugalula and a triallist.
Stalybridge Celtic’s pre-season began with a 1-0 win against New Mills.
The game took place at Stockport Sports Village after heavy rain meant the Millers didn’t want to risk damaging the pitch at Church Lane.
Jack Tinning’s early goal was enough to separate the sides.
Ahead of their trip to Jersey at the weekend, Curzon lost 2-0 at Hanley Town in their first pre-season game.
Meanwhile, a late goal from a triallist pushed Hyde United over the line in a 2-1 win against National League hopefuls, Halifax Town.
The Tigers’ captain Jack Redshaw tapped home a first-half opener at Ewen Fields before the Yorkshire side pulled one back in the 81st minute.
Finally, Droylsden kept up their momentum from Saturday’s 5-0 thumping of Stretford Paddock by edging past Cheadle Town.
A headed goal from former Cheadle player Liam Moran proved to be the difference at the Butchers Arms, with Bloods boss Dave Pace telling the club’s YouTube channel: “Tonight was an interesting game because they’re from a division above, and for us to do anything they’ve got to believe in themselves as a group of players.
“I’m definitely pleased. With some new players coming in it’s difficult, but they’ve got to get minutes on the pitch so I can judge them accordingly.
“They’ve got to come in and make a difference; they can’t just come and tread water for 15 or 30 minutes. I had to let a couple go on Saturday and a few will go after tonight. Whether you play for the King’s Head or Manchester United, if you’re good enough, you’re good enough.”
