The odds indicate nothing much will change this weekend at the top of the Premier League - and I repeat I'm not at all regretting paying out before Christmas on City retaining the title.
Liverpool are entertaining lowly Watford on Saturday while City are at another club battling to avoid the relegation trap door Burnley.
Both the top two are odds on to pick up three points before the eagerly awaited Etihad clash between them that many say will settle the title.
The bottom line is City are the better team with a much deeper squad of superstar experienced players.
Every man and his dog knows that I’ve paid out £750,000 on City being champions....and they’re still odds-on with us to take the title, although I admit Liverpool are in excellent form and are running the Blues close.
In the battle for a fourth-placed finish, my beloved United continue to show great inconsistency and it will be tough going against Leicester at Old Trafford on Saturday.
United are 9/2 with us for a top-four finish, behind Arsenal and Spurs at 1/2 and 9/4 respectively.
Finally, Everton are far from out of the mire at the bottom of the Premier League, and Frank Lampard’s men are now as short as 9/4 to face relegation into the Championship.
But to be honest, it’s looking like the current bottom three – Norwich (1/100), Watford (1/6) and Burnley (4/7) – will be crashing through the trap door.
I'M chuffed to bits that a retired businessman from Bolton has won £150,000 at Betfred after his ‘secret formula’ came up trumps on the 49s numbers game.
The pensioner bet £15 that numbers 6, 14, 30 and 43 would come up – and they did, winning him the jackpot.
His formula is that when a number comes out, he drops it from the four on his coupon and selects another – and that paid off handsomely for the Betfred regular who visits shops throughout Bolton and surrounding areas.
He said: “I’m moving house so the money will come in handy and will also be very useful now I’m a pensioner.
“I certainly don’t need a new speedboat or a new car, but I will probably sort out a decent holiday later in the year.
"I’m just bowled over to be honest. It’s a great amount of money to win. It’s my biggest win ever – although I did pick up £4,500 a few years ago on the 49s after switching from the Irish Lottery.
“I’ve always been lucky, ever since I was seven years old and won a competition which got my family some vouchers that were used to get me a new toy and a gold-plated razor for my father.”
This fella has been a regular of ours for many years, and during that time has enjoyed some significant wins – but never as much as £150,000 which is such a fantastic return for a £15 wager.
And we've had another great winner with greengrocer David Thorneywork who clearly knows his onions – but his football knowledge has also proved second to none after winning £99,138.52.
The 68-year-old landed an extraordinary 10-fold accumulator last Saturday, picking ten home teams across three divisions.
David went for Sheffield Wednesday and Shrewsbury to beat Cheltenham and Lincoln respectively in Division One – and he opted for Carlisle, Colchester, Exeter City, Leyton Orient and Northampton to topple Bristol Rovers, Tranmere, Stevenage, Barrow and Hartlepool in Division Two.
In the National League, he backed Grimsby to beat Dagenham & Redbridge and Torquay United to triumph over Weymouth.
But David was left sweating on the final game in his accumulator, with Wrexham were losing 5-4 to Dover until injury time – but the Welsh title chasers scored in the 91st and 98thminute to seal a dramatic 6-5 victory.
David, who wagered £200 at his local Betfred shop on Weoley Castle Road in Birmingham, said: “I was sweating on Wrexham because all my other teams had won and they were losing 5-2 at one point.
“It was the last result to come in, and I jumped out of my chair at home and started cheering as I watched the result come in on TV.”
The father-of-three, who is well known in the city as his greengrocer stall is outside of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, took just 10 minutes to make his selections.
“I just went down the coupon and picked out the teams I fancied,” he added. “It took me just 10 minutes or less.
“What am I going to do with the money? Well, there’ll be plenty of my children knocking on the door that’s for sure!
“Everyone in my family will get a bit, and my wife and I love going on holiday to India so we’ll definitely be going back there by the end of the year – and I’ll be buying her a present too.
“I go to the Betfred shop twice a week to put football bets on, and it was an unusual weekend with no Premier League or Championship matches because of the international break,” said the Birmingham City supporter.
It’s great that such a hard-working fella and Betfred regular has won so much. What an incredible achievement to get ten correct football results across three divisions.
He must have been on tenterhooks, but Wrexham eventually pulled through. He should forget about India and go to north Wales for his holidays.
In form Guiseley proved too strong for Ashton at Hurst Cross dominating the middle period of the game after Ashton had opened the scoring and ended with a late consolation.
