Team GB have won a gold medal in the first ever triathlon mixed relay to hit the Olympics.
Georgia Taylor-Brown had wowed the country earlier in the week when she secured a silver medal in the women's triathlon.
However her winning streak has struck again as Team GB, made up of Taylor-Brown, Jessica Learmonth, Jonny Brownlee and Alex Yee, take home the 1st place position in the first ever mixed relay.
The Team won with a time of 1:23:41, an incredibly respectable time after an excellent opening from Learmonth, Brownlee following after to break away from his rivals, a fantastic swim from Taylor-Brown who managed to give the team a 23 second advantage and a finish from Alex Yee to secure the victory.
Each of the four athletes were faced with a tough 300m swim along with a 6.7km bike ride and a 2,000m run.
This victory comes as welcome news for Team GB and since triathlon was introduce to the games in 2000, Britain have won eight medals, three of those being gold.
The athletes had been chosen in the perfect order, complementing each others styles and ultimately creating an unstoppable force of triathletes.
Team GB currently stand 6th on the medal table, with 8 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze medals.
