WATCH: Charlie Swaps The Ring For The Roads With The Launch Of 10KM Race

Professional boxer Charlie Schofield has launched his very own 10km race in a bid to get the people of Tameside active.

Charlie, who fought on the undercard of Amir Khan vs Kell Brook at the AO Arena in February, has created the challenge, which will take place on Sunday 12 June, to give experienced and inexperienced runners the opportunity to set themselves a goal and raise funds for a charity of their choosing.

Those who participate in the challenge will receive a number of goodies and a training plan.

We spoke to him about the reasons behind the event.
