The Tameside Cycle Track has been a hive of activity this morning with hundreds of secondary school pupils taking part in the cross country event.
Despite the freezing temperatures, icy winds and sweeping rain, pupils from years 7-11 put their best foot forward in a bid to become the best in the borough.
The event was well attended with family and friends braving the elements to show their support from the sidelines.
During our visit we spoke to Natalie Klays, Head of PE at All Saints Catholic College in Dukinfield, to get her views on the importance of holding such events amongst other things.
