Runners braved the rain this morning to get their fix of exercise at the Stamford Park parkrun.
The event is only made possible thanks to a hardy band of volunteers who coordinate the event and ensure its safety.
Despite the weather's best attempts, experienced and inexperienced runners participated in the 5km race and pushed themselves in difficult conditions.
In a bid to get more people involved in the race, organisers are promoting a walking aspect around the course.
We attended this morning's event and spoke to Julie Carrs, race director, about her history, the success of Stamford specifically, and the importance of volunteers.
