Weekend Review: Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League

The curtain closed on the 2019 Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League last weekend.

Division 1

Dinting 1XI v Woodley 1XI

Woodley won the toss and elected to field first as Dinting scored 157-5. G.Harwick scored 52 and S.Mehta 39* as J.Ince took 3-29. Woodley were bowled out for 76 in reply as A.Radcliffe took 3-0 and S.Mehta 3-40.

Dove Holes 1XI v Broadbottom 1XI

Broadbottom won the toss and elected to bat, as they were bowled out for 148. C.Cheetham-Roberts scored 37 as R.Johnson took 3-18 and B.Bagshaw 4-29. Dove Holes fell 11 runs short of victory in reply eventually being bowled out for 138. S.Cartledge scored 53 as J.Brotherton took 4-24.

Mottram 1XI v New Mills 1XI

Mottram won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 225-5. R.Fitton scored 69, S.Fielding 47 and O.Andrew 69. New Mills fell to 116 all out in reply with D.Brightmore taking 4-38.

Whaley Bridge 1XI v Hayfield 1XI

Whaley Bridge won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 119 all out, with E.Ford scoring 35. Hayfield made hard work of the chase, eventually winning for the loss of 8 wickets as G.Davies scored 45* and H.Poggonpoel 44.

Division 2

Hazel Grove 1XI v Hadfield 1XI

Hazel Grove won the toss and elected to field first, restricting Hadfield to 129 all out with M.Clayton claiming 5-15. Hazel Grove completed their chase for the loss of 7 wickets as A.Twidel scored 50 and R.Hirst took 3-42.

Old Glossop 1XI v Newton 1XI

Newton won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 191 all out. T.Pottage hit 63 as B.Whitehouse took 3-25. Old Glossop collapsed to 68 all out in reply as T.Pottage took 5-26 and C.Barnard 3-12.

Tintwistle 1XI v Stalybridge 1XI

Tintwistle won the toss and elected to field first, bowling Stalybridge out for 101. J.Robinson made 44 as M.Robinson took 3-25 and R.Nixon 4-31. Tintwistle could only manage 77 in reply despite 31 from J.Smith as U.Riaz took 3-22.

Division 3

Charlesworth 1XI v Offerton 1XI

Offerton won the toss and elected to field first, as Charlesworth scored 130-7 as E.Morley hit 58. Offerton were bowled out for 108 in reply with P.Elliott taking 5-26.

Hollingworth 1XI v Chapel 1XI

Hollingworth won the toss and elected to bat first as they collapsed to 87 all out with H.Beal taking 3-23. In a thrilling chase, Chapel were 9 wickets down when they secured victory. S.Morris took 5-12 and R.Hoskins 3-25

Pott Shrigley 1XI v Mottram 2XI

Pott Shrigley batted first and were bowled out for 106. R.Clark made 38 as P.Broscombe took 5 wickets. Mottram collapsed to 63 all out in reply. M.Fazackerly hit 30 as C.Oake took 4 wickets and M.Baqueriza-Jackson took 3.

Division 4

Broadbottom 2XI v Dove Holes 2XI

Dove Holes won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 163 all out. K.Waterhouse scored 52, D.Waterhouse 37 and M.Turner 43 as G.Whitney took 6-20 and N.Courtney 3-50. Broadbottom could only manage 113 all out in reply as M.Turner took 3-32.

Hayfield 2XI v Old Glossop 2XI

Old Glossop won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 176-7. A.Dwyer hit 53 and R.Barrow 36 as D.Aldridge took 4-26. Hayfield were bowled out for 61 in reply as I.Twist took 5-12 and C.Keem 3-8.

New Mills 2XI v Tintwistle 2XI

New Mills won the toss and elected to field as Tintwistle scored 179-7. S.Morris scored 79 and S.Barrow 41 as K.Harran took 3-39. New Mills were bowled out for 102 in reply. B.Boardman hit 47 as M.Woodward took 3-17 and C.Harris 3-33

Woodley 2XI v Birch Vale 2XI

Birch Vale won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 134-9. D.Platt scored 42 as T.Hotson took 4-45. Woodley were bowled out for 90 in reply. A.Rippon hit 33 as A.Hayward took 5-14.

Division 5

Buxworth 2XI v Hollingworth 2XI

Buxworth won the toss and elected to field first as Hollingworth posted 180-7. M.Osborn struck 52 and S.Lee 45 as D.Compton took 3-31. Buxworth fell to 58 in reply with R.Gobson taking 5-7 and D.Morris 4-15.

Chapel 2XI v Hazel Grove 2XI

Hazel Grove were asked to bat first and were bowled out for 40. J.Theyer took 3-7. Chapel knocked off the runs without losing a wicket in 7.4 overs.

Hadfield 2XI v Pott Shrigley 2XI

Pott Shrigley won the toss and elected to field, seeing Hadfield score 194-8. R.Ball hit 55 and J.Nicholson 62 as I.Tomenson took 4-46. Pott Shrigley fell to 102 all out in reply. S.Barlow hit 39 and I.Tomenson 48 with K.Patel taking 4-6 and L.Mooney 3-32.

Offerton 2XI v Charlesoworth 2XI

Offerton won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 147-9. M.Saleem made 62* and N.Ahmed 39 as Y.Khan took 3-52. Charlesworth were 84 all out inr reply as M.Saleem took 4-23.

Stalybridge 2XI v Whaley Bridge 2XI

Stalybridge won the toss and elected to field, bowling Whaley Bridge out for 105 as N.Woodman and P.Coxon took 3 wickets each. Stalybridge fell to 89 all out in reply. A.Wilde made 31 as Z.Mason took 3-18 and C.Chopping 4-15.
