Police have seized drugs with a street value of £700,000 after discovering a cannabis farm in Hyde.
600 plants were found earlier this week at the undisclosed location, which officers have described as “An horrendous day for the criminals responsible, but a terrific result for the Hyde Neighbourhood Policing team and the community as a whole.”
Despite finding the crop, GMP are still appealing for information about those behind growing it.
“These cannabis farms generate huge profits for criminals and cause harm to communities,” said Neighbourhoods Chief Inspector Dave Henthorne. “At Tameside we are determined to locate them and arrest those involved, but we need the public’s help.”
“If you have information about a suspected cannabis farm or those responsible, get in touch with the Police at Tameside, or provide information anonymously via the CrimeStoppers website.”
The latest discovery follows a cannabis operation being found in Carrbrook in June, with another farm of 1,000 plants uncovered at the end of last year in a disused Royal Bank of Scotland building in Hyde.
