Brave little Ella has stepped up once again in her journey to raise funds and awareness for a very special charity.
Three-year-old Ella Cooper from Ashton suffers from a rare developmental disorder known as Weidemann-Steiner Syndrome. For Ella, this means she faces many daily struggles, including tiring easy and struggling to walk.
She has proven her courage on several occasions before, raising incredible funds for The National Wiedemann Steiner Syndrome Warriors by taking a trip around the Etihad stadium with the help of her frame.
Now, this sensational hero is looking to help once again and will hosting a raffle, where one lucky winner will take home a fully signed Manchester City shirt.
Kay Garratt, Ella’s mum, is the Greater Manchester fundraiser for the charity and commits so much of her time to helping families in the same predicament as them.
“If I can help even one family and make sure that they don’t go through the same stress that we did then I’ll have done my job,” she says.
As a first time mum, Kay knew something was wrong with Ella but couldn’t pinpoint what it was. She struggled immensely to get Ella to drink milk and tried every possible solution to fix the issue.

It wasn’t until she was taken to Manchester Royal Children’s Hospital where doctors started to look more deeply into her condition. There, she was diagnosed with Weidemann-Steiner Syndrome and was provided with the best care by her doctors.
Staff were unsure if she would ever be able to walk, however at 33 months Ella began to walk with the aid of her frame. Her family wonder if she will ever be able to talk but every day is becoming less stressful.
Ella is a huge Manchester City fan and the club have played a big part in her journey. Visiting her in hospital, she was able to meet members of the team and has been given so many gifts from the club.
The family are now looking to increase their mission to raise awareness of Ella’s condition and have set up a JustGiving page to bring in funds for their raffle.
You can access the fundraising page here.
They will also be hosting a charity afternoon in April which is set to take place at Guide Bridge Conservative Club.
Kay wants to ensure that no other family face the struggles that they have and champions to help wherever she can.
Any support to the charity would be incredibly appreciated and may just land you the chance of winning your own signed football shirt.
