A free Dukinfield health event will be offering 'mini health checks'

Dukinfield Medical Practice’s Patient Group is holding a Health Event on September 30 from 2-4pm at St. John’s Church Centre, Vicarage Drive, Dukinfield, SK16 5HZ.

Exhibitors will represent local organisations and services of interest to many of the patient population, including older people, carers, families and those suffering from chronic conditions or who have mental health issues.

Additionally, information will be available on volunteer opportunities.

Barring an emergency situation, an ambulance will be on site giving visitors the chance to see the inside without the associated health crisis. Paramedics will also be demonstrating life-saving techniques.

Attendees will be able to take advantage of “mini health checks” including BP, BMI, etc.

The Practice Patient Network Group will also be present. This group of patient volunteers is keen to share their current and planned  programme; to have the opportunity to talk to patients to identify need that could deliver enhanced services to support the clinical team.

The group said: "Everyone is welcome to attend. It’s free entry. We would encourage people to come along.

"Our good health is something we should always promote and there’s much we can do ourselves to maintain it. Getting information and being signposted to assistance if necessary is an important part of the process.

We’re looking forward to meeting many of our patients and others on the day."
