The charity Children's Hospital Pyjamas is launching an appeal next week for donations.
Each year, the charity collects items of brand new (non-fleece) pyjamas for newborn to 18-year-olds, which are gifted to children in hospital on Christmas morning.
The PJs are also used in other situations where children may have had their clothes cut in A&E, in an emergency situation where there hasn’t been time to pack essentials, or where families live a distance from the hospital to save them from travel.
Last year the charity collected more than 12,200 pairs of pyjamas and donated them to 56 establishments.
This year they are also be supporting Tameside Hospital, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Stepping Hill.
Their appeal runs from October 12 to the end of November.
The nearest collection points to drop off pyjamas are: Blooms and Balloons, 103 Haughton Green Road, Denton, M34 7GR ; Karma Hair and Beauty, Rupert Street, Reddish, SK5 7AP, All That Sparkles Vintage Tea Room, 213 Manchester New Rd, Middleton, M24 1JT.
