Ashton Indian restaurant boss blames cost of living crisis for decision to close

An Ashton Indian restaurant has blamed the cost of living crisis for having to close after 12 years in business.

Zing and Zest, on Oldham Road, has been in business since 2012 and has a four star rating on TripAdvisor.

Bur now it has closed for good.

In a statement, the firm said: "We want to express our deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to each and every one of our customers and friends who has walked through our doors for dining in and takeaways in the past 12 years of our business.

"While it saddens us to bid farewell, the cost risen in energy prices and cost risen in all other sectors of the trade, it has been very difficult for us to survive and continue trading”  We believe it is important to reflect on the memories, the moments and the successes we have shared here at Zing & Zest”

“Since we open the Restaurant’s doors back in 2012 we remember the laughter, the joy, the celebrations, and the excitement that have made Zing & Zest a special place for all. From romantic dinners to family gatherings, all the celebrations and work parties, we are honoured to have been a part of your lives, and for that, we thank you."

The firm has hosted charity events, served discounted meals and donated meal vouchers to schools and fund-raisers.

Food was also given to NHS workers during the pandemic.
