Higher and Adult Education students from Ashton Sixth Form College had their hard work recognised at the college's Annual Evening of Celebration last week.
The success and achievements of more than 300 students was celebrated, including those graduating with Foundation degrees, PGCEs in various subjects, GCSE courses, Diplomas and Certificates for those in early years and Access to Health.
Many students and partner organisations received recognition, with 12 awards handed out to school and college-based mentors this year.
Centre Principal, Lisa Richards, and Assistant Principal for Higher and Adult Education, Jo Fletcher-Saxon, presented the awards at a glamorous ceremony at The Village Hotel in Hyde. The evening was attended by students, staff, school and employer partners and friends and families.
Assistant Principal of Higher and Adult Education, Jo Fletcher-Saxon, said: "It is always an amazing evening when we celebrate the progress and achievements of our higher and adult education learners. We have heard stories of people’s lives transformed through studying, gaining employment, advancing in their careers, trainee teachers securing their first teaching posts, teaching assistants gaining promotion.
"Those who completed their Access to HE course have received incredible university offers on competitive courses across allied health professions. This is what we are here for, and we are very proud of the college’s work with post-18 students."
The college highlighted: "Whatever a person’s motivation for returning to learning, there has never been a better time to do it. It is never too late to learn."
