The CEO of Hill Biscuits has resigned after 18 months at the helm of the confectionary giants.
Frank Bird, 52, announced today (Friday January 17) that he stepped down from his role at the company, which employs around 350 people at its Tudno Mill headquarters in Ashton.
The company was bought out for an undisclosed amount in the summer of 2024 by Spanish own-label manufacturers, Cerealto.
“Leading this remarkable business has been one of the greatest privileges of my career,” Mr Bird said in a post on LinkedIn.
“As Hill Biscuits approaches its 170th year since John & Sarah Hill began the business in Dukinfield, I could not be prouder of the strong foundation we’ve built for the future.
“Together, we have accomplished incredible milestones: 44% growth in 2023, the successful acquisition in July 2024, and further double-digit growth over the past year.
“These achievements are a true reflection of the dedication, talent, and passion of every single person within the business.”
Although announced today, Companies House revealed that he resigned his post in the week before Christmas.
Hill Biscuits formed in 1855 from a shop in Dukinfield and now bakes hundreds of millions of biscuits per year in a 24-hour operation.
