Bus services consultation session in Stalybridge

A drop-in session is being held in Ridge Hill tomorrow (Wednesday) on the future of Greater Manchester’s bus services.

A public consultation is currently underway on whether the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) should take control of the region’s buses.

The move, if approved, would mean bus services would be under Greater Manchester’s control, while bus operators would simply run the services.

The aim is to make the bus work link up more effectively with other public transport networks across the region.

So far, more than 2,500 people have responded to the consultation, which remains open until Wednesday, January 8 2020.

The drop-in session gives residents a chance to learn more about the consultation and have their say.

It’s at the Big Local Hub, Ambleside, on Wednesday, December 4, from 4pm to 6pm.
