Call for volunteers to help bring back Denton's Mad Hatter's Carnival

Denton Carnival Association is inviting the local community to join forces and help ensure the 2024 carnival is the biggest and best ever.

The Association is a voluntary group established 30 years ago to bring back the original Denton Mad Hatter’s Carnival which folded in the 1970s. A Steering Committee meeting is being held on Thursday, January 4, at 7pm in the Chapel House Pub in Haughton Green, to which all those who want to play their part in supporting the Carnival are invited.

Andrew Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish, and Carnival Association President, said: “Denton Carnival has a fantastic legacy in our community and has been kept going by the tireless work of volunteers over decades. “However, we’ve faced several challenges over the last few years, particularly through COVID, with the Carnival having to be cancelled. “For 2024, we want to bring the local community together so we can put on the biggest and best carnival ever.

“Next summer might seem an age away, but the hard work starts now, and I’d urge all those who want to help to come and join us in January and get planning.”
