Tameside charity The Believe and Achieve Trust will be holding a virtual Christmas concert on Sunday (20 December), featuring a live performance from Dave Pye.
It will be taking place between 4pm and 5pm on the charity's Facebook page, which you can access by clicking here.
The charity had to cancel its usual carol concert due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
But male vocalist Dave has kindly stepped in to perform a festive set for you to enjoy from the comfort of home.
Dave has taken part in a skydive among other fundraising activities for the charity and was a good friend to Alex Williams - who passed away in the summer of 2012 with meningitis. The charity - which helps young people facing obstacles to achieve in sport through the provision of financial assistance - was founded in 2014 by Alex's mum Alison, who is the CEO.
She commented: "Dave is a wonderful artist and will spread lots of Christmas joy throughout the concert. He normally helps to host our carol concert and makes it such an enjoyable time for people to come together and spread the festive feeling. This is going to be an amazing hour and one you don’t want to miss."
People can send a message for Dave to read out during the performance by emailing hello@believeandachieve.org.uk
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, 2020 has been a tough year for the local charity, which has had to cancel their main fundraising events – leaving them without much-needed funds.
The charity relies on donations to carry on the work they do to raise awareness of meningitis and give out grants to children who need them most.
Donations to The Believe and Achieve Trust can be made during the show by texting ALEX to 70450 to donate £1. Texts will cost £1 plus one standard rate message and you’ll be opting in to hear more about the charity's work and fundraising via telephone and SMS. If you'd like to give £1 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text ALEXNOINFO to 70450.
