Community heroes recognised for keeping Tameside tidy

MP for Denton and Reddish, Andrew Gwynne has presented Citizen's Awards to two community volunteers, Eddie Stewart and grandson Joseph Boswell, this morning at the Tame Valley.

Members of the public nominated Eddie and Joseph for their unwavering dedication to keeping Tame Valley pristine. The duo has been heavily involved in litter picking and tidying up the Peak Forest Canal and sprucing up Jet Amber Fields and other parts of Tame Valley.

Talking at the Citizen's Award event, Andrew said:

"It's been my pleasure to present these Citizen's Awards. The Tame Valley is such a wonderful asset for us all, and thanks to Eddie and Joseph and all the other Friends of the Tame Valley volunteers, it will remain so for many years to come.

"A very well-deserved award. Well done, and thank you, Eddie and Joseph!"

The event has also been aptly marked with the sowing of wildflower seeds with the children from Linden Road Academy school, Denton.
