The huge Defibs for Denton campaign fundraiser is just days away and everyone is invited to support the good cause.
Residents across the town are being encouraged to back the campaign to raise funds to provide defibrillators at locations like Denton Festival Hall, Wellness Centre and town hall among others.
Denton North East councillor Denise Ward is spearheading the campaign, prompted by the life-saving actions of Tameside Life Line Community Ambulance directors John Gilmour and Penny Brooks at the Denton Festival Hall, when they saved the life of grandfather Tom Webster when his heart stopped beating.
The initial aim was to provide a defibrillator for the hall, but now the support for the campaign has grown it is hoped a number of the life-saving devices will be purchased.
The key fundraising event for the campaign is a three-course meal at The Indian Plaza in Audenshaw next Wednesday 22 February. Tickets (£20 for adults and £10 for children) can be purchased from the Festival Hall or The Indian Plaza.
There will be entertainment, raffles and auctions to boost funds to add to the fun of the evening.
Mafuz Mia at The Indian Plaza is no stranger to hosting fundraising events and is delighted to support the initiative.
