Stalybridge Festival Committee stage their annual Stalybridge Spring Show in Cheetham Park this Sunday (7 May).
Naturally the event will have a very distinct Coronation theme, given the event takes place the day after King Charles III Coronation.
Organising Secretary Ian Cochrane says: “We have transformed our five metre high Maypole into a Crown Pole and this will take centre stage in the Performance Arena in Cheetham Park.
“The Spring Show starts at 11am and includes live entertainment from 1pm. We will also be having a large family fun fair, hot food stalls and a large number of trader and community stalls.
"We are so pleased to have, once again, teamed up with the Sarah England School of Dance who will be performing three choreographed dances around the Crown pole in their spectacular outfits.”
For animal lovers there will also be a Fun Dog Show starting at 1.30pm. Anyone wanting to enter their dogs will just need to turn up and register on the day. The entry fee is £2 per category. This year there is a Best King Charles Category to continue with the Coronation theme. The other categories will be:
· Dog with the Loveliest Eyes,
· Dog with the Waggiest Tail,
· The Cutest Puppy,
· Best Presented Dog,
· Best Rescue Dog.
The winner of each category will also be competing for the title of Best Dog in Show.
There will also be a Dog Agility demonstration following the Dog Show.
Young members of Perform With Hart have been practicing long and hard to put on a show which brings the curtain down on the festivities.
Ian added: “There will be lots of activities for all the family to have a great day in the Park and help us raise extra funds towards this year’s Carnival.”
