A cyclist has died after being hit by the driver of a Mercedes on a main road in Ashton.
The woman passed away in hospital, having sustained serious injuries in the crash on Wellington Road on Tuesday evening (30 August).
Greater Manchester Police were called at around 9.30pm after a black Mercedes c220 collided with the cyclist as it crossed the junction of Wellington Road, travelling in an easterly direction.
The driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and is assisting the Serious Collision Investigation Unit with their enquiries, a GMP spokesperson said.
No arrests have been made at this time, they added.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have been driving through the area at that time and could have dash-cam footage, is asked to contact police with any information.
