A local funeral directors in Denton are collecting Easter Eggs in support of local charity St Mary's Foodbank.
S P Astley Funeral Directors, which is part of end-of-life service provider, Dignity, launched their annual Easter Egg appeal several years ago to help distribute gifts to those in need in the local community.
Staff at the funeral directors are asking local businesses and organisations, community groups, and residents to donate Easter Eggs or other chocolate gifts by the 31 March in time for delivery to St Mary’s Foodbank ahead of the Easter weekend.
Andrew O’Brien, Business Leader at S P Astley Funeral Directors, said: "We hope that the local community will support us and help to make Easter an easier and more enjoyable time for people supported by St Mary’s Foodbank.
“St Mary’s Foodbank works to combat poverty and hunger across the local area and provides emergency food and support to local people.
“We ask that all donations are dropped off to our branch at 127-129 Hyde Road, Denton, Manchester, by 31 March.
“Dignity colleagues across the country will help bring a smile to the faces of others that may not have been expecting an Easter Egg and we’d like to do the same in our local area."
If you would like to donate, visit S P Astley Funeral Directors at 127-129 Hyde Road, Denton, between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, by 31 March.
