A community champion in Droylsden is appealing for donations of chocolate eggs to help ensure local children have a sweet treat to enjoy this Easter.
We reported recently how full-time mum Emma Power has been going the extra mile to support people in the town during the challenging times that the coronavirus pandemic has brought.
The 41-year-old will be out and about on Easter Monday (5 April) with her six-year-old son Alfie, dressed as Easter bunnies, to deliver free Easter eggs to children.
They will be visiting the following places:
- 11.30am Ellen Estate - church hill, next to the Lazy Toad pub
- 12.30pm Fairfield Movarian - at the red post boxes
- 1.30pm Droylsden town centre
People are being invited to come and say hello, whilst respecting social distancing guidelines.
But Emma is also kindly appealing to anyone who is able to donate any Easter eggs, so that she will have enough to distribute to youngsters.
She said: "Since I posted on social media and put posters up about going out dressed as bunnies on Easter Monday, we have had so many families say they are interested so I'm worried that we will run out of eggs."
Anyone who is able and willing to donate Easter eggs can drop them off at Emma's address, which is 14 Ribble Walk, Droylsden, M43 7UP.
Emma has already collected more than 300 eggs - through a combination of buying them herself and receiving donations from kind-hearted folk.
