A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed in Dukinfield.
Greater Manchester Police said they were called to reports of a disturbance on Astley Street at around 9.15pm on Saturday night (10 December).
Paramedics were also summoned to the scene and took the young man to hospital with injuries which GMP say are 'consistent with a bladed article being used'.
It's understood his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Police are appealing for help from anyone who was on Astley Street or around the area at around 9.15pm - which was shortly after the conclusion of England's World Cup quarter-final defeat to France.
