A teenager from Dukinfield who tried to hide from police under a blanket in his loft has been charged with a number of offences including assault, stalking, harassment and criminal damage.
Early on Wednesday morning (18 August), officers from GMP Tameside Division's Neighbourhood Task Force found and arrested Connor Chorlton, who was wanted and deemed a 'high risk domestic offender'.
The 18-year-old, of Thorncliffe Avenue, was located after the occupant of the address tried to delay the officer entering, allowing Chorlton time to make his way to the loft space.
A spokesperson for GMP's Tameside North and East team said: "Unfortunately for him, this team of officers aren't that wet behind the ears and after a thorough search of the address, located Chorlton lay between the joists, under a blanket.
"Chorlton was arrested for a number of domestic-related offences and taken in to police custody."
After being interviewed, Chorlton was charged with assault by beating, stalking involving fear of violence, two counts of criminal damage, four counts of harassment by breach of a restraining order, and failing to appear at court.
Chorlton was remanded in custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on Thursday, where he was further remanded in custody until Thursday 26 August when he will reappear by video link.
A trial date has been set for 4 October 2021.
