Police are looking to speak to this man who was riding a distinctive pedal bike.

Police are continuing to investigate after an elderly man was attacked with a hammer in Denton.

On Thursday 2 March, officers were called to reports of an assault of a 69-year-old man using a hammer on Portal Grove.

The injuries sustained were not life-threatening or life changing, before the suspect made off towards Mill Lane.

Greater Manchester Police want to identify and speak to the man pictured on a distinctive black and yellow pedal bike, who they believe has vital information that can help with their enquiries.

Detective Constable Woodhead, of GMP’s Tameside district, said: “Since this incident was reported to us shortly after it happened we have undertaken and investigated a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this.

"Now these have been completed we are in a position to appeal to the local public for any further detail they may have. In particular, we are keen to speak to the person pictured on a distinctive pedal bike that we feel may be able to assist us in our investigation.”

Anyone with information or details that may help with enquiries are asked to call 0161 856 9262 direct, or 101 quoting log 1433 of 02/03/2023. Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
