The hugely popular Denton's Got Talent and Party in the Park events return this weekend.
Four fabulous days of non-stop fun are promised in Victoria Park, Denton, and on Denton Civic Square, with events running from Friday (29 July) through until Monday (1 August).
Events go on each day from 12 noon to 5pm, with a further programme of entertainment also taking place each day.
On Friday, magic man Robert Bardsley will be wowing the crowds from the bandstand in the park from 1pm to 3pm.
Meanwhile, bowl along on the Saturday for a bowling competition. Open to all bowlers, the contest is being staged by Denton Park Social Bowling Group. Register to take part from 12 noon on the day.
There will also be country line-dancing on the Saturday with Cactus Jack and Amy Morgan from 2-4pm on the bandstand.
The weekend will also include Denton’s Got Talent - returning for the first time in three years due to the pandemic.
The contest takes place on the Saturday and Sunday with the preliminary rounds on the Saturday from 2pm and the grand final on the Sunday. You can register to take part from 1pm on the Saturday.
So whether you are a magician or a singer, a dancer or comedian, this is your chance to put your talents to the test and showcase your abilities - plus win a cash prize.
On the Sunday there will be an artisan market, with Little Owls Markets from 11am-3pm on Denton’s Civic Square, with lots of stalls. The Denton’s Got Talent Finals will be held from 2pm on the Sunday.
Then on Monday, again on the bandstand, local lad Vince Hughes will be rocking and rolling from 2-4pm.
Denton councillor Denise Ward and Tony Moran, from Denton Bowling club and Friends of Victoria Park, of which Denise is also a board member, are the key organisers behind the extravaganza.
Denise and Tony said: “Hopefully, it will be a great event. Many families faced with the cost of living crisis, will not be able to afford a day out this summer, so we are bringing the day out to our community in Denton.”
Walter Wright is providing a fun fair and Howards Neighbourhood Bar is bringing the Gin Bar, plus there will be stalls and attractions for everyone.
Councillors Denise Ward and Vincent Ricci will be hosting the Tombola Stall, helping raise funds for further events in Denton.
Denise added: “I would like to Thank Tony, David McNally and Cllr Ricci for all of their assistance.”
