Free family fun day is back in Dukinfield

DUKINFIELD'S BIG DAY: Dukinfield councillors John Taylor and Jackie Lane with Mark Storie from Astley Sports Village prepare for the park's fun day.

Final preparations are in place for this weekend's Dukinfield Park Family Fun Day.

The activity-packed event, running from 11am to 3pm on Saturday (1 July), promises something for everyone.

It is the first time since the pandemic that the fun day returns to the park, having become a successful annual event.

It will now be back in style this weekend.

Astley Sports Village’s Mark Storie said: “It’s fantastic that the fun day is returning to the park in Dukinfield after Covid. It will be a great community event and it’s all free for all families.

“We’ll have inflatables, sports activities, football with local junior football clubs attending, plus local scout groups coming along.

“The day was hugely successful before Covid and we’d have up to 1,000 people in the park so we’re really looking forward to getting it up and running again,” added Mark.

The fun day is supported by Astley Sports Village, Stalybridge and Dukinfield Rotary and Tameside Council.
