Free Hyde kids club launches at Clarendon Square tomorrow

A free kids club is coming to Hyde just in time for the summer holidays.

Clarendon Square are hosting the Hyde Holiday Camp - which launches tomorrow [8 August] with a farm theme.

It runs every Thursday until 29 August and young ones are invited to take part in interactive activities, games and entertainment from 11am - 3pm.

Lifelike animatronic animals, a farmyard set and storytelling will be sure to ‘a-moo-se’ children during the summer holidays. Visitors will also be able to plan seeds in the vegetable patch and enjoy arts and crafts.

August 15 theme is ‘Seaside shenanigans’, which will include a puppet show and a giant deck chair to pose on. Children can write a postcard telling all about their day trip to Clarendon Square and they will also receive a stick of rock as a memento.

On Thursday 22 August the holiday club will take to the skies where event-goers have the chance to get kitted out and become pilots, cabin and ground crew. There will be paper planes to make and pedal ones to play on.

The final event on 29 August will be a lego block party, which will allow guests to have heaps of fun creating their own personalised, cut-out Lego character.

Sophie Stephenson, centre manager at Clarendon Square, expects the club to be very popular. “Hyde Holiday Club offers a great way for children and their families to have lots of laughs and enjoyment together this summer.

“We appreciate that it can be a little tricky to keep the little ones entertained throughout the holidays, but all our activities are free and there’s plenty to get involved in,” said Sophie. “We’re excited for the club doors to open and we hope our visitors have many brilliant days out with us.
