Fundraising event being held for Help for Homeless Veterans UK

Neil Munnerly, a Hyde resident, plans to hold a charity event on the 15th of December.

The event Neil is holding will, in his words, “investigate the ghostly goings on and to determine at the end of the evening if the premises are haunted.”

The premises Neil mentions is a former stately home that was established back in 1883, being used as a residence for local businessmen. In 1924 it then became part of the Freemasons, becoming a Masonic Hall.

The events taking place on the night will be consisting of “various techniques of paranormal investigating, demonstrations of trance mediumship, the human pendulum, table tipping and a mass seance. There will also be question and answer sessions throughout the evening.”

There will be refreshments throughout the evening and all proceeds will be going towards Help for Homeless Veterans UK.

The fundraiser is especially important to Neil, as the money will be going to a cause very close to his heart. Neil told us “I want to raise awareness for a fantastic charity.” The charity is based in South Yorkshire and has a primary focus is the support of former members of HM Forces (veterans) facing homelessness.

The event is taking place at the Oaklands in Hyde, and will run from the 15th December 8:30 pm until 2 am the following day.
