After being sworn in as the new MP for Rochdale on Thursday, February 29, George Galloway has said his party will have candidates in many north western constituencies.
He also vows his party could overturn Angela Rayner's majority in her Ashton-under-Lyne constituency at the next election and will be fielding a candidate against her.
The Workers Party of Britain MP has previously represented seats in Glasgow, east London and Bradford and pledged allegiance to the King on March 4, as part of the swearing-in ceremony all MPs must do.
Mr Galloway was expelled from the Labour party in 2003 due to his views on the Iraq war and said his Rochdale win was "for Gaza".
He won the 12,335 votes following a campaign which saw the Labour Party withdraw support from its candidate following allegations of antisemitism.
“Keir Starmer, this is for Gaza,” Galloway said following his victory, referring to the Labour leader who initially refused to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
“You have paid and you will pay a high price for the role you have played in enabling, encouraging and covering for the catastrophe presently going on in the Gaza Strip."
He added: “Even this evening, the political class in Britain are in a state of panic about [my win], both the Conservatives and Labour, because they know they have been rumbled."
On Friday 1 March, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the election of Mr Galloway was "beyond alarming" and accused him of dismissing Hamas's October 7 attack.
