Jack Russell Skip, a golden oldie aged 17 years old, is on the look-out for a loving forever home at Dogs Trust Manchester in Denton.
Due to his age, Skip is currently staying with a foster family but is now on the lookout for a family with who he can live with permanently.
As an OAP (old age pooch), Skip enjoys the quiet life. His favourite hobbies include pottering around in fields, discovering new smells, and snoozing away on the sofa.
Skip will occasionally play with squeaky toys, and he enjoys meeting other dogs and is currently in foster with another dog, but he usually sticks to his home comforts.
Lisa Eardley, Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Manchester, said: “Skip is a wonderful Jack Russell, who is looking to enjoy his golden years in a loving forever home.
“He is happy to live with children over the age of 14, but they must understand that Skip is an older lad who is looking for a quiet life!
“Skip loves spending time with his human friends, and he doesn’t like being left on his own. Due his age, Skip’s separation anxiety is something to manage, rather than fix, so he will need someone at home with him most of the time, and a family who are happy for him to sleep upstairs.”
Skip could potentially live with another dog, and his new home would have to include a closed garden. Skip additionally sometimes experiences toileting accidents, and his new family would need to be understanding of this.
Dogs Trust Manchester is also calling on more people to offer a temporary home to dogs like Skip until they find their forever homes.
Fostering is a great opportunity for dog lovers to care for a dog in their home without the long-term commitment that comes with owning a dog.
Dogs Trust covers all the essential costs whilst a dog is in a foster home, including vet bills, food, bedding, and toys.
