Local organisations will be able to provide additional services as funding has been made available to support at-risk groups across the borough during the winter months.
Tameside Council's Adult Services team is looking for any community groups or organisations which can offer help to vulnerable people over the coming months.
Any organisations that would like support with grant funding for a particular project can get in touch with the authority.
The types of project which will be applicable to the scheme include those which support older people, the homeless, individuals with disabilities as well as other person-centred issues.
Groups can apply for funding for a variety of schemes, including providing free hot meals, buying emergency food and other essential items for those in need, making wellbeing calls to check on people and arranging social activities for anyone who is isolated.
The council say this is being offered to the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector to provide real community-based support for those in need.
Applications are open to those involved in providing activities which help people in Tameside. This can include voluntary organisations, community groups, community interest companies, social enterprises, development trusts and charities.
There is no deadline for applications but funds will be allocated to successful bids on a first come, first served basis so groups are encouraged to send any submissions as soon as possible.
Cllr Eleanor Wills, Tameside Council elected member for Adult Social Care and Population Health, said: “Whatever the scope and size of your project, if you can help in any way, this funding could be for you.
"We'd love to hear your ideas and are excited to see the proposals which come in from of the fantastic groups and organisations we have in Tameside. Winter can be a challenging time for a lot of people and through these funds, we'll be able to provide some valuable additional services."
