Healthy Hyde Centre: championing accessible health services for all

Mark Andrews speaks with the Healthy Hyde team in Clarendon Mall

Hyde, Tameside – Our reporter Mark Andrews recently visited the Healthy Hyde Body and Mind Centre, within Clarendon Mall, to discuss the importance of accessible health services with the dedicated team behind the initiative.

Opened last year, the Healthy Hyde Centre has quickly become a community hub for health and wellness, bridging the gap for residents seeking trusted guidance on important health matters, including hypertension prevention.

During the visit, Mark spoke with the Healthy Hyde team about their mission to make essential health resources available to the public, highlighting their work around blood pressure monitoring and hypertension awareness. Trained health professionals were on hand to discuss the critical role of regular blood pressure checks, which are vital in preventing the onset of hypertension—a condition affecting many individuals across Tameside and beyond. The team stressed the importance of early detection and proactive care in maintaining heart health and preventing serious complications.

The Healthy Hyde Centre was established through the efforts of a coalition of local medical practices, including Awburn House, Brooke Surgery, Clarendon Medical, Donnybrook, Dukinfield Medical, Hattersley Group, Haughton Thornley, and The Smithy. Built over 17 weeks with extensive commitment from team members, the centre reflects a shared commitment to community wellness. As a community-focused health centre, Healthy Hyde upholds values of honesty, fairness, and transparency, working tirelessly to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities within the population.

“We aim to provide integrated, comprehensive healthcare services that are accessible to all,” a spokesperson from Healthy Hyde shared. “Our core values guide us in putting our patients and community at the centre of everything we do.”

Residents of Hyde and surrounding areas are encouraged to visit the centre and take advantage of the expert support available. The Healthy Hyde team will continue to host similar outreach events and welcomes everyone to stop by for health advice tailored to their needs.
