Hyde community group launch winter warmers appeal

Hyde-based Sandwich Angels has launched an appeal for the donation of hot water bottles, blankets, socks, hats and gloves.

The non-profit community group, run entirely by volunteers, say they are seeing the daily suffering of families, elderly and the vulnerable, saying many are now frightened about how they will keep warm this winter due to the rising energy costs.

The group is therefore asking generous members of the public to donate the aforementioned items.

New hot water bottles will only be distributed to those most in need who can use them safely.

If you can help donate items, you can text 07713 973640.

The Hyde Knit and Knatter Group at Pop in Hyde have made hot water bottle covers for the hot water bottles the group are adding to their food bags, distributed to those most in need.

Food donations are also accepted and most welcome for the group.
