Jo Frost and Natalie Forshaw of the plus size fashion boutique Topsy Curvy in Hyde have raised a sum of £1122 for the animal charity Noah’s Art.
Noah’s Art is a family-run and not-for-profit social enterprise founded in 2015. They focus on the bond that humans and animals can have and the therapeutic effect that can have on us. They also work closely with neurodivergent people. Founder Sharon Hall who owns the place told us what she plans to do with the money, she said ‘We hope to improve the outside area so we can use that for our dog cafe when the nice weather comes so we can sit outside with the dogs’.
Natalie who works at Topsy Curvy explained why she decided to donate to Noah’s Art, ‘We share the building with Noah’s Art and anywhere where there’s an animal, we’re going to get involved.’ Jo who founded the shop when she was in her 20s added ‘I am on the autistic spectrum and it just made sense to work together. We love the animals and want to do whatever we can to help out’.
The shop raised £1122 through ticket sales and a raffle for a fundraiser night they did on April 1 at the Oakland Hall. The fundraising doesn’t stop there though as Topsy Curvy have created animal related t-shirts that come in array of sizes and £5 of the sale of each t-shirt goes to Noah’s Art.
