Hyde staff stride out for vital charity funds

A Hyde recruitment agency tackled a ten-mile charity walk, raising vital funds for a local health service.

The nine-strong team from Bennett Staff Bureau walked a circular route from their Hyde offices, passing through Hattersley, Matley and Newton on their way.

Robbie Harrison, operations director at the firm, said they are ‘a little sore’ but ‘pleased’ with the achievement of the group.

Around £500 was raised and will be handed over to Lifeline Ambulance and New-Start Education.

New-Start Education offers courses in the delivery of first aid and first responder training - which can be carried out at the training facility or a venue of your choice.

Their courses are accredited by Qualsafe and Ofqual.

They also have their own ambulance service ‘Lifeline Ambulance’ offering support to those in need of assistance getting to hospital appointments.

Robbie said the staff at the agency have known John Gilmour, the founder of the two charitable organisations, for a while and previously used his services for first aid training courses.

“Although John has never asked for any fundraising, we are delighted to be able to help him so he can continue the great work he does for the community,” he said.

“A manager from one of our local clients does some volunteer driving for John and highlighted the amazing work he does, with little to no funding.”

Meanwhile, John embarked on his second journey to Poland on Sunday, October 1, carrying supplies for the Ukrainian community.
