A trouble-spot Hattersley pub could be forced to close weeks after a man was stabbed during a violent fight.
Greater Manchester Police has called for Mottram Wood to have its licence reviewed following the incident and a public notice is currently on display at the premises.
This is to allow for any further issues to be raised by interested parties residing or trading in the vicinity of the premises.
On March 3, a group of males were involved in a brawl and a male victim was taken to hospital for treatment after suffering a laceration to his hand.
Back in 2019, the pub was also the scene of an armed attack as three balaclava-clad men carrying knives and baseball bars stormed the pub and demanded cash from staff.
The licensing committee were told last week that up to 20 people were involved in the disturbance which spilled outside into the carpark on a Sunday afternoon, where families would have been eating and nearby Wacky Warehouse would have been full of young children.
Another serious assault was also referenced dating back to September last year when a victim suffered a broken jaw that required constructive surgery during another football game.
