Kids Zone Nursery Group stepped up to help their local community once again, by joining with other local nurseries to donate Terry’s Chocolate Oranges.
The group, with nurseries across the region and head-quartered in Dukinfield, asked their families if they could help the local initiative ‘We Shall Overcome’ which supports the homeless and families most in need.
Kids Zone children and parents certainly didn’t disappoint, a huge total of 1,010 Terry’s Chocolate Oranges were very kindly donated, which was a fantastic response.
These will be added to care packages which will go to every Tameside Care leaver this Christmas and to children whose families are facing the biggest struggles this winter.
Ashton’s Pauline Town MBE, who runs the We Shall Overcome initiative for the homeless and those living in real poverty, said: “The chocolate will also be going into the pensioners’ hampers that are going out to our elderly friends facing Christmas alone this year and to our homeless lads and lasses who are calling a night shelter their home right now.”
Kids Zone Nurseries strive to help local charities all they can and have donated items to local food bank charities on many occasions, building great relationships with those who run the charities and supporting them wherever they can.
