MP Gwynne braves 'Wing Walk' for Dukinfield youngster

MP Andrew Gwynne successfully braved a 'Wing Walk' above the Yorkshire skies last weekend, helping to raise more than £3,000 for Dukinfield youngster Florence Croce.

He has previously undertaken a parachute jump and taken on the world's longest zip wire challenge for the youngster.

Now he was back in the sky again alongside Florence’s mum for the next challenge.

“The wing walk was such a brilliant - if terrifying - experience. I’d like to thank Jenny for inviting me to take part, and to the crew who made sure we were safely strapped on before taking to the skies,” MP Gwynne said.

“Florence is an extraordinary little girl, and I know her family have been overwhelmed by the generous donations they’ve already received.

“If you’re able to, please do donate. Any amount will make a huge difference and help Florence and her family make beautiful memories.”

Florence is a beautiful happy, loving and strong-willed little girl. Sadly, she suffers from a rare life limiting degenerative condition called late infantile GM1.

This horrendous and cruel condition has already robbed her of her ability to walk and talk. It will slowly take away the abilities she still has, resulting in her being taken from her loving family far too soon.

But before then, her mum Jenny is determined to raise as much money as possible to provide Florence with the best life she can have, plus fund any treatments not available on the NHS, as well as raise awareness of the condition.

MP Gwynne has long been a supporter of Florence and her family, and as well as helping to raise money, he has heightened the profile of the condition by raising the matter in Parliament.

Jenny added: “From day one we wanted to make a difference for Florence and raise money to create memories for Florence and also raise awareness of this condition to try and prevent other families facing the same challenges.”

There is still time to make a donation of any amount and you can visit www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jenny-croce-wingwalk or find out more on the Facebook page for Fundraising For Florence.
