MP presents The Bread and Butter Thing volunteers with award

MP Andrew Gwynne visited The Bread and Butter Thing hub in Haughton Green to thank the volunteers for their tireless work and commitment and to present them with one of his Denton and Reddish Citizen’s Awards.

The Bread and Butter Thing is a national charity determined to do their bit to reduce food waste, whilst at the same time ensuring that surplus food goes to the people who need it, all at affordable prices.

Thanks to the Haughton Green TBBT hub, people in the area are benefitting from this great initiative.

MP Gwynne said: “The work The Bread and Butter Thing carry out is magnificent, however it would not happen without the local volunteers on the ground packing and distributing the food. The volunteers at the Haughton Green hub are second to none, and it was wonderful to take some time out to thank them for their work.”

Andrew was also joined by the Denton South councillors who also expressed their thanks.
