A pilot scheme to help people find or stay in work has rolled out in Tameside.
WorkWell aims to assist those with health issues stay in work, and support residents in returning to work after losing their previous job.
The trial offers a personalised programme for those with health and social challenges to return to work, and a voluntary service that offers access to health and job advice.
This support could include advice on workplace adjustments, such as flexible working or adaptive technology, working with employers on health needs, and providing access to local services.
“We are really pleased to be part of the Greater Manchester WorkWell Partnership which is being piloted in fifteen areas of the UK,” said Councillor Leanne Feeley, Tameside Council’s Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture.
“Managing a health condition and working can be challenging and affects many of our residents, so I am sure this additional support will be well received.”
More information and a WorkWell referral form can be found at www.tameside.gov.uk/WorkWell or by calling the team on 0161 342 3111.
The team will also be available at the Work and Skills Drop in on Thursday December 19 at Ashton Library from 3.30-7.30pm.
